I made these for my mother in law's 80th birthday party, I saw some similar on Pintrest but I wanted mine a bit bigger so worked out the sizes I wanted, after a bit and trail and error!I started with a piece of kraft card 7 1/8 by 4 inches, I then scored the long side at 7/8 and 3 1/8 then 4 inches and finally 6 1/4 ,the short side was 7/8 then I flipped it round and did 7/8 in from the other side. I then cut out all the corners and the two inside pieces as well. I used the second smallest size circle die which gives a circle of 1 1/4 inches. I then used a bone folder to fold the score lines. I added double sided to tape to the three flaps on the side without the circle and folded it to make the box.

As soon as I saw this Kaiser recipe box I wanted it, I have so many scraps of paper with food creations that desperately needed organising, this looked perfect for the job.I painted the box in antique cream paint from Kaiser then covered it in the script paper, again from Kaiser. I mat and layered the top with my nesties and made some matching flowers, the letters are a digital freebie, will post a link if I can trace them.
Inside I have written out my favorite recipes and laminated them, I knew I would use the laminator one day!

I love this kaiser paper so much, it's from the Bonjour collection, the colours are so pretty. the stamp is a magnolia, coloured with a mix of copics and promarkers, the border is by spellbinders.

Don't you just love this rainbow paper, it was a digital freebie from Mel, just gorgeous. I have simply added the flower with a brad in the centre, some ric rack for the stem and cut some leaves by hand to add a greeting, I finaly did a little scrawl around the edge with a black fine liner. I also decorated the bag to match with that awesome digital freebie, all the best people are born in march but I have no idea who it was designed by as there is no name on the file, I will add the details later if I can find them.

Well I have not blogged for ages but does it matter, does anyone actually read my posts? I think it's just a record for me to remember what cards I have made.
Anyway this card was for my Nephew, I used kaiser backing paper, embossed a strip of pearl brown paper with the swiss dots folder, then added the frame and greeting which are both digital freebies from Summer Driggs, I then added the stars to put his name on the card. A simple card but I kinda liked it.Now that summer is nearly over I have no excuse I need to become productive with my crafting. I am making things but just not blogging so I have lots of finished items to photograph.

I have been having a play with my embossing folders. This first card was using the tulip embossing folder with white pearl card then I stamped the verse in the centre using a See Dee stamp, I then embossed a second sheet and cut out some of the flowers and added them with sticky pads to give some depth. Not happy to leave it at that I stitched little pearl flowers and beads on the flowers. This card looks much prettier in real life.
